The story of RAISE

RAISE opened in 2024—as part of Ray's lifelong dream to change the face of "physio factories" and create a space based on hearing, listening and unrushed appointment times for quality.

Ray injured her back when she was 19 on an army exercise and saw lots of physios.  The "quick check of your exercises" model of care did not get the results she needed and persistent low back pain persisted for a further 15 years.  She wanted to create a clinic focussed on listening, hearing, manual hands on treatment, outcome based recovery where science meets care.

Ray was also bewildered that physio seemed to be the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff and wanted to create a space to prevent injuries - to build strength, balance and mobility no matter your age, fitness level, medical conditions or injuries.  RAISE Pilates was born, a small boutique studio with bespoke expert instruction to make people "defy aging in a place they belong".

The reformers quickly became filled and waitlisted and RAISE expanded in 2025 to six reformers and two physio treatment rooms allowing RAISE to reach and help even more people in the community.

RAISE Physio Pilates is located in the beautiful surrounds of Royal Wellington Golf Club, a 27 golf course haven away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

RAISE aligns with the vision of Royal Wellington Golf Club - world class facilities, inclusivity, creating a vibrant social club and seeks to help members and the community achieve strength and longevity for their sport and be healthy for their families.
